My Emmys 2011 Red Carpet Picks

image

3 things: I LOVE Sofia Vergara, I LOVE the color red orange and I LOVE Vera Wang. This is too gorgeous! The gold bangle and drop earrings perfected the look. I really wish I had those curves! Curve lang meron ako! LOL!

image

A lot of critics didn’t like Kelly Osbourne’s steel gray hair but I actually liked it! It still had a touch of blonde and looked really nice on Kelly’s now tanner skin. I love how her makeup also blends with her gorgeous mauve organza dress and contrasted with the steel gray. And isn’t her figure so awesome these days?? You go Kelly!

image

If you’ve noticed, I really like chiffon or organza gowns. I just love how it’s so feminine, flirty and sexy. What I’ve grown to love just now is the color, wine red! I’ve never been a fan of the color, I don’t even have a piece of red clothing in my closet! (Okay maybe 2). I don’t even own red lipstick! But these days, I’ve been obsessing (not buying) on wine red dresses and wine red shoes! I would DIE to have a pair of YSL Tributes in that lovely color right now.

Anyway!!! Enough about me. I really love this dress on Connie Britton because of the cinched waist with the huge chiffon ribbon and the flowing skirt with that just-right-sexy slit! Love this.

image

I think I don’t have to say anything more about this. Evan Rachel Wood looks so regal and elegant in this black Elie Saab gown that she doesn’t have to smile or pose for the camera, she just had to stand there and it’s mind-blowing!

image

image

MY WINNER! I. LOVE. HER. The Vampire Diaries is definitely my favorite TV series right now and Nina Dobrev is just GORGEOUS. She’s a standout that night! from the structured mermaid gown, her SUPER toned arms, perfect tan, smoky make-up, to her sideswept wavy hair and diamonds. WOW. She’s stunning, yeah?

Who are your Emmy Red Carpet picks? :)

Tyrion Lannister = BAD-ASS!

Peter Dinklage a.k.a. Tyrion Lannister, in my opinion, is the most bad-ass guy on TV right now. He totally deserved that Emmy! Can’t wait for Season 2 of Game of Thrones!

Should I start reading the books or will I spoil watching the show?? :)

Hear me say Rawrrr!

So I’ve been a bit too much of a girl lately, translation: b*itching about life at 25. Haha! It’s quarter life crisis at its worst and the world doesn’t seem to get along with me these days. *breath in breath out*

Ok, just wanted to let that out! I think it’s just suitable that I wore a leopard-printed cape to let out my inner “RAWRR”. (it’s more ferosh spelled that way than ROAR right?)

I just paired it with a basic shirt dress and threw on some tribal-inspired jewelry. Wore this to Georgina Wilson’s shoot! She’s super gorgeous. Oh well, more bad news for me. I’m so fugly beside her. Haha just kidding! I’m not usually this negative, my closest friends know that I’m the jolliest person even when I’m sad or frustrated. I’m the most non-confrontational person I know! It must run in the family ‘cos we nobody ever fights! no one gets mad period. So that’s why I’m like this. I just don’t how to vent it out I guess! So daanin nalang sa clothes right? haha

I loooove this leopard print chiffon cape from Toppicks! It’s my recent Multiply buy. I also bought another in the loveliest shades of blue. Will post it some other time :)

Hope you liked how I put this together. :) How about you? How do you let out your inner rawr?

Tribal Lunge

Yeyyy I missed outfit posts! Here’s one after 3 months (or more). That’s how busy I am, my gulay!!! I wore this during the Ask Dr. Belo livestream show, one of my baby projects. It was so fun this time ‘cos we had Ruffa Gutierrez as our celeb guest. She’s crazy fun! I’ll blog about it maybe tomorrow.

Back to my outfit, I had to wear something comfortable where I can easily move around because I’m supposed to be on top of the whole project. Meaning, running around, doing briefs and overall directing! So I threw on basic black leggings and just worked with an ikat print top and oversized cape. (cardigan ni Sharon. HAHA joke lang!)

Blue oversized cape: from Hongkong | tribal print top and black tube: Forever 21 |

basic black leggings: Topshop | Gold wooden wedges: Possibility by The Ramp |

black tassel earrings: The Ramp | gold cross connector ring: Forever 21 | gold watch: vintage from my Grandma |

Can I just say, tassel earrings are so addictive!

Please hit me up some points on Chictopia.

Hope I get to post more outfits soon. I missed this! Thank you Rona Ayeras for taking my photos. Mwah!

Thaipan Goodness

Another foodie post to make up for a week-long hiatus! I spent a relaxing 4-day weekend at Cebu and Bohol with my family and we had so much fun! (More about it on another post!). So anyway, I just want to share with you one of Quezon City’s gem of a restaurant, Thaipan! I love Thaipan because it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Timog and Morato areas. They have a long street of parking and it’s also beside another favorite, Bagoong Club (will blog about it some other time).

Before I start with the food, I want to talk about Thaipan’s interiors. Thaipan is BEYOOOTIFUL from the outside and even moreso when you step inside. I love that it’s glass, yellow lights and the vines all around. It’s how I picture my future house!!! It feels like the whole area is a patio.

image

image

We stayed at the al fresco area where they had fake grass (hmmm. not sure about fake grass though!) and breezy tents above us.

image

Don’t you just love their lamps, lighting and clean white tables? I also love the graphic decals on the wall!

image

Isn’t this the prettiest bar? :) I want one like this!

image

How it looks inside. So pretty and relaxed!

image

image

Don’t you just love their wall decals? :)

Ok so I guess I already got you hooked with the interiors of Thaipan. Let’s now go to the food shall we?

image

Tom Yum Kung - Hot and sour seafood soup. I enjoyed this soup so much because it’s much like tom yum soup but it has a little bit more sweetness and creaminess that balances the sour and spicy! I also loved the generous serving of squids, shrimps and mussels which were all perfectly cooked! (hate it when my squid gets rubbery!)

image

Choo Chee Kung and Roti - minced prawn in reduced red curry sauce served with roti bread. Before anything, I must say I LOVE ROTI! I love any type of roti, naan, chapati, pita. So I make sure I order it when I see it on a menu, which got me excited to see it on Thaipan’s. This dish was so good, I told Eugene I can eat that alone and I’ll be happy. The roti was sweet and the hot curry complemented it well. LOVE.

image

Khao Khlup Kapi - fried rice with shrimp paste served with sweet pork and green mango julliene. The best thing about the dish is found on the next photo.

image

Tada! the waiter Juna, or Luna (?) mixed the rice for us while explaining the ingredients. With a squeeze of lemon as a flourish in the end! Taray!

image

It tastes as good as it looks! I love love bagoong rice with green mango. I love bagoong period.

image

See Khrong Moo Yaang -  barbecued cinnamon and lemon marinated pork ribs. This was just ok! It was great with the rice but the rice can stand without it. Order something different, maybe a curry!

All in all, Thaipan is a great restaurant that is a must-try if you’re in the area. It would be good for family dinners or with friends.
